Praxis Build reflects these principles in a smaller, more personal setting. Clients work directly with the builder, ensuring transparency, flexibility, and a hands-on approach from pre-construction through to completion. Every project is approached with care, whether it’s a new build, renovation, or custom carpentry work.

Outside of work, Joel values time with his young family and enjoys being outdoors, particularly surfing along the WA coastline. That balance between precision and ease, structure and calm, carries through into the homes Praxis Build creates, spaces designed to be lived in, enjoyed, and built to last.

At Praxis Build, the focus is not just on how a home looks, but how it feels, delivering thoughtful craftsmanship and a considered building experience tailored to each client’s lifestyle.

Praxis Build was founded in 2021 by Joel Mouritz, Director, owner-operator, and registered builder, with a clear focus on creating beautiful, comfortable, and sustainable homes.

With over 20 years’ experience across residential and commercial construction, Joel began his career as a carpenter before progressing into supervision, project management, and design coordination roles. He spent more than a decade working with one of Perth’s premium Tier 1 commercial builders, contributing to some of the city’s most complex and well-known projects, including Fiona Stanley Hospital, Crown Towers, and Optus Stadium.

This experience shaped Joel’s approach to building, one grounded in strong planning, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of how design, structure, and delivery come together. It also reinforced the value of clear communication, coordination, and quality workmanship at every stage of a project.
